Storybook Page

I created this excerpted page from a storybook in my Illustration class. The assignment was to choose a few lines from a fable to illustrate in the style of a children’s storybook. I chose The Town Mouse & the Country Mouse, and used Adobe Illustrator to create the interior of the country mouse’s burrow. Through the use of a calm, subdued color palette, a handwriting font, and simple imagery, I conveyed the atmosphere of the story. The characters were illustrated similarly but given unique accessories to reflect their differences. The entire composition was given a skewed perspective to roundness of the tree they’re in.
